Sconce 2333 by Natalia Landowska is part of Laminae (2026), a series examining the uppermost layers of the earth through ceramic and light. The work is formed using a composite of porcelain clay and paper pulp, enabling thin, extended structures that retain strength after firing.
The surface is defined by accumulated glaze layers, applied and reworked over time. During firing, these layers shift, crack, and separate, creating a complex skin that records both construction and transformation. The ceramic body filters the internal light source, producing a subdued and controlled illumination.
Across the series, Landowska treats light as a structural element, shaping perception as much as the ceramic form itself.

Right of Withdrawal
