About
Boketto is a Japanese word for the act of gazing into the distance without thought: a state of open attention, where looking precedes knowing. It is from this disposition that the gallery takes its name and approach.
Galerie Boketto presents objects that reward sustained looking: post-war design, contemporary works, and new commissions, brought together through their relationship to material, technique, and idea. In Le Marais in Paris, the gallery maintains a space whose program moves between exhibitions, conceptual, and seasonal displays. In Porto, we operate internationally with collectors, architects, and institutions on large-scale projects that require a custom approach.
In Boketto, we are as interested in where an object lives as in the object itself. Coherence across space, and the relationships between things, matter as much as individual works.
